KMC launches Ganga awareness drive
The Kolkata Municipal Corporation launched an awareness drive to keep the Ganges clean. Mayor Firhad Hakim today kicked off the Ganga Utsav drive urging citizens to keep the river clean.
The opening ceremony of Saraswati Puja was held at the 99-year-old Santragachi Kedarnath Institution. Dr Sujoy Chakraborty, the chairman of the Howrah Municipal Corporation inaugurated the Puja.
Keeping in mind the changing mode of learning, for the first time, the school students offered Mobile and Laptop instead of books and pens to Devi Saraswati for worship.
In an attempt at course correction, the students and teachers of the institution reflected the current scenario through the theme “Drishti-Bhrom”(illusion). It is the impact of social media that has led to such a disastrous effect on the society, which was amply reflected through the way the goddess was decorated.

The theme of Sahaj Paath by Rabindranath Tagore was also explored by the school through its message to the society.
